| News » BCS Itera's software development went to Datel BCS Itera's software development went to Datel Datel Ltd. and BCS Itera Ltd. signed a deed of purchase with which the present BCS Itera software development business was transferred to Datel along with its employees and contracts. The change of ownership is based on BCS Itera’s aim to focus on offering mainly business software solutions, at the same time Datel sees the need to increase its corporate clientele share in software development and reinforce its software developer’s team.“Software development projects are one of Datel’s main fields of operation in which we believe to be the leaders in Estonia,” said Datel Ltd. board chairman Urmas Kõlli. “With the acquisition of BCS’ software development we are able to increase our flexibility and increase the product range.” The signed agreement transfers all BCS Itera software development employees and contracts to Datel. “There won’t be any sizable changes for the customers since all the contract terms and people connected with the projects will remain the same,” explained Kõlli, “all transferred employees are very good specialists.” According to BCS Itera council chairman Ants Sild the desire to sell the software development business came from their aim to focus more on offering business software solutions. “BCS Itera is a Microsoft Business Solutions Partner in Estonia and the biggest vendor and implementer of Navision business application software on the local market,” noted Sild. Datel Ltd. is one of Estonia’s leading information technology companies with the main field of operations being the development of major information systems and databases. During its 12 years of operations Datel has developed software for Estonia’s main registers including the land information system, the electronic Land Information System and software solutions for companies. In addition Datel Ltd is with its 61 employees one of the biggest ICT solution providers and the leader on the video conferencing technology sales and renting market.
