| News » Datel is preparing the joining of the Construction Works Register with X-road Datel is preparing the joining of the Construction Works Register with X-road The State Construction Works Register information system developed and successfully implemented by Datel Ltd. for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications this summer will be joined with other state registries through X-road. As a result all notaries and bailiffs will be able to make their entries directly into the Construction Works Registry themselves.“While from this summer notaries had access to the present Building Registry information for verification purposes then as a result of the present programming task notaries will be able to make and save the necessary entries in the Construction Works Registry themselves from the beginning of next year,” said Datel Ltd. board member Villem Alango. “At the moment we are in the process of transforming works that will change the data of other registries transferable to the Construction Works Registry through X-road and this will surely improve the quality of the data.” For example a notary no longer has to type in all information in case of an ownership change but can make a query based on the company’s register number and get the necessary company information from the Business Registry to the Construction Works Registry. In the development and implementation of the new Internet based registry system’s technical solution Datel has paid a lot of attention to convenience and data security. Among other things the servers log all more important queries of the register data, thus upon the appearance of any misunderstandings the history of a register file can easily be restored. A public information service available over the Internet makes the data available to everyone and of course attention has been paid to the protection of the interests of people entered into the registry. “For example the searching of objects using a person’s name or ID code is not possible through the public service," explained Alango, “anyone can get an overview of the construction’s data with the address of the cadastre attribute but in that case the owners name will remain confidential.” Datel Ltd. is one of Estonia’s leading information technology companies with the main field of operations being the development of major information systems and databases. During its 12 years of operations Datel has developed software for Estonia’s main registers including the land information system, the land information system together with the electronic map system, electronic Land Registry, etc. In addition Datel Ltd is with its 77 employees also the leader on the video conferencing technology sales and renting market.
