| News » The Tallinn City Planning Register is Complete The Tallinn City Planning Register is Complete AS Datel has completed the development work for the city planning register (CPR) ordered by the Tallinn City Government and has delivered it to the client before the deadline. At the Tallinn City Government press presentation on June 29, Ulvi Ingver, the vice-director of the Tallinn City Planning Department, gave a positive assessment to the technical solution and quality of the project documentation. Many local Estonian governments provide planning information on the Internet, but only the solution created for Tallinn allows for the administration, transparency and trackability of the entire processing procedure. It is important for ordinary citizens that planning information becomes visible from the moment the application is accepted, and that in order to submit counterarguments and ask for additional information, it is no longer necessary to follow ads in the newspapers. Information can be searched according to the type of procedure, related individuals, as well as location (on maps). The development work took six months to complete. The application is web-based and its space data processing and presentation is based on DoGIS technology. The system solution complies with OpenGIS and other standards, and it has cross-capability with other information systems through web services. Other than a web browser, the end user does not need to purchase any special software to use the CPR, and it operates everywhere where the Internet is available. During the course of the project, the client showed great dedication and a clear understanding of the expected results. I feel that together we are creating some truly worthwhile and have greatly increased the motivation of the execution team, summarized Jaanus Sulkatko, our project manager. |
